The role of the safety technician is to contribute with his professional training and experience to the prevention of occupational risk and to the promotion of a safer work environment.
The security technician:
- Advises on design, planning, construction and maintenance of facilities, introduction of new production processes, supply of tools and equipment, selection and control of the effectiveness of personal protective equipment, as well as configuration and arrangement of jobs and work environment and general organization of the production process
- Checks the safety of the facilities and technical means, before their operation, as well as the production processes and working methods before their application and supervises the implementation of the health and safety measures of the employees and the prevention of accidents, informing the competent supervisors of the departments or the address of the company.
- Regularly inspects the jobs in terms of health and safety of employees, reports to the employer any omission of health and safety measures, proposes measures to address it and oversees their implementation.
- Supervises the execution of fire safety and alarm exercises to determine the readiness to deal with accidents
- Supervises the proper use of personal protective equipment.
- It investigates the causes of accidents at work, analyzes and evaluates the results of its research and proposes measures to prevent similar accidents.
- Ensures that employees in the company comply with health and safety rules and informs and guides to prevent occupational hazards posed by their work. Participates in the training and implementation of employee health and safety training programs.
The safety technician completes the necessary books defined by the labor inspectorate and prepares the Written Occupational Risk Assessment after a relevant study.
